John Ryan BA (Hons)PGCE
John has been a member of our organisation since he was 13 years old and has come up through the ranks. He has a Level 3 BTEC National Diploma in Jazz Music Performance from Leeds College of Music and he has a BA honours degree in Popular Music from Hudderfield University. John is a Clarinet, Saxophone and Trombone specialist, he plays in a variety bands and performs on a regular basis with the Dearne Big Band & Singers.
Trevor Peacock BSc (Hons)
Trevor is a University of Wolverhampton graduate. He started learning piano at age 5 and progressed very quickly. Trevor then went on to learn the Clarinet and Saxophone. He has a wealth of performing experience and currently performs regularly with The Dearne Big Band & Singers. Trevor is also our IT expert for the organisation.
Andy Bramall MCMI
Andy has been a part of the organisation since 1979, first of all playing Clarinet and Saxophone then moving onto Guitar with the Dearne Big Band. He has a wealth of performance experience, playing regularly with a number of local jazz bands on guitar, banjo or double bass, playing saxophone with the the Dearne Big Band and singing with the four part harmony group the Octave Singers. Andy is also the booking secretary for the Dearne Big Band and Singers.
Emma Birch
Emma is currently studying for her Degree, her specialist instrument is the Clarinet and Saxophone. She has performed extensively with the Barnsley Youth Jazz Orchestra and the Dearne Big Band & Singers. Lessons with Emma are enjoyed by a number of our beginners.
Sarah Scholey
Sarah is currently studying for her Degree her specialist instrument is the Clarinet and Saxophone. She has performed extensively with the Barnsley Youth Jazz Orchestra and the Dearne Big Band & Singers. Lessons with Sarah are enjoyed by a number of our beginners.
