Loraine Cawood BA (Hons) PGCE

Loraine has a BA honours degree in Band Studies from Sheffield University she then went on to obtain her PGCE in Secondary Education from Huddersfield University.  She has taught in various secondary schools and been a Head of Music for a number of years. Loraine is a Brass and Piano specialist.

Trevor Peacock BSc (Hons)

Trevor is a University of Wolverhampton graduate.  He started learning piano at age 5 and progressed very quickly.  Trevor then went on to learn the Clarinet and Saxophone.  He has a wealth of performing experience and currently performs regularly with The Dearne Big Band & Singers.  Trevor is also our IT expert for the organisation.

Andy Bramall MCMI

Andy has been a part of the organisation since 1979, first of all playing clarinet and saxophone then moving onto  guitar with the Dearne Big Band. He has a wealth of performance experience, playing regularly with a number of local jazz bands on guitar, banjo or double bass, playing saxophone with the the Dearne Big Band and singing with the four part harmony group the Octave Singers. Andy is also the booking secretary for the Dearne Big Band and Singers.

Phil Gregg

Phil is a very experienced electric guitar and bass guitarist.  He has obtained a Foundation in Western Music at Leeds College of Music. He has a wide taste in music from jazz, blues, rock and pop.  He also plays the acoustic guitar and has run music festivals in the local area.

Ellen Auckland

Ellen has been a member of our organisation since she was 10 years old and has come up through the ranks.  She has obtained her Grade 8 trumpet and is currently studying for a degree in Music.  Ellen is a Piano and Trumpet specialist and performs on a regular basis with the Barnsley Youth Jazz Orchestra and the Dearne Big Band & Singers.

Byron White

Byron started playing drums in a Drum Corp when he was 10 years old.  The Drum Corp taught Byron a lot of his technique and he went on with them to represent Great Britain in Bournemouth in the World Championships and he also flew to Malta to represent Great Britain in 2006.  Byron obtained his Grade 8 drums when he was 16 years old and after leaving school he studied Music and Music Technology then went on to study Music Performance.  Byron has performed extensively with the Dearne Big Band & Singers and various other groups, he has also toured for 2 years with a professional Soul Band.  Byron loves to teach and perform in any genre.
