Danny Hammerton BA (Hons)
Danny has a BA honours degree in Jazz Studies from Leeds College of Music. Danny is a professional musician and has toured the world performing in major concert halls, festivals and various TV shows with various artists. Danny regularly performs with The Glenn Miller Orchestra in which he’s a featured soloist as well as a member of the vocal group. Danny teaches a number of our advanced students.
Loraine Cawood BA (Hons) PGCE
Loraine has a BA honours degree in Band Studies from Sheffield University she then went on to obtain her PGCE in Secondary Education from Huddersfield University. She has taught in various secondary schools and been a Head of Music for a number of years. Loraine is a Brass and Piano specialist.
John Ryan BA (Hons) PGCE
John has been a member of our organisation since he was 13 years old and has come up through the ranks. He has a Level 3 BTEC National Diploma in Jazz Music Performance from Leeds College of Music and he has a BA honours degree in Popular Music from Huddersfield University. John is a Trombone, Saxophone and Clarinet specialist, he plays in a variety bands and performs on a regular basis with the Dearne Big Band & Singers.
Andrew Cawood MA
Andy has been a member of our organisation for 30 years. Andy enjoys teaching Trumpet and Trombone and regularly performs with The Dearne Big Band & Singers. Andy chose not to pursue a career in music and instead went on to study Design Strategy and Innovation at Sheffield Hallam University. He is currently a Design Manager for a Danish company.
Ellen Auckland
Ellen has been a member of our organisation since she was 10 years old and has come up through the ranks. She has obtained her Grade 8 trumpet and is currently studying for a Degree in Music. Ellen is a Trumpet and Piano specialist and performs on a regular basis with the Barnsley Youth Jazz Orchestra and the Dearne Big Band & Singers.
Taylor Yoxall
Taylor is currently studying for his A levels, his specialist instrument is the Trumpet. He has performed extensively with the Barnsley Youth Jazz Orchestra and has recently started playing with the Dearne Big Band & Singers. Lessons with Taylor are enjoyed by a number of our beginners.
